All chairs I make are finished with "kanna" without using ay sand paper. "kanna" is a tool to shave wood, but it's like a stethoscope to me as it helps me understand the trees. While consciousness stays on my fingertips, "kanna" in my hand makes me feel connected with the wood - it always is a fresh and fascinating moment.
